Thrill the World Austin

Flash Mob Austin helped break a world record today. 881 zombies danced to "Thriller" to celebrate the album's 25th anniversary, thus making Austin, Texas the holder of the record "Most People Dancing to Thriller in One Location". [Pictures coming soon!]

It all started with our September planning meeting. Following the success of our first mission (Operation Pillow Fiiiiight), we held a planning meeting to discuss our subsequent missions. Someone said "What about a zombie dance off? We could all dance to Thriller..." So Agent Adams went home, did a Google search about how to learn the dance and found Ines and Thrill The World. She knew that Flash Mob Austin had to get involved.

Joining up with Henri Mazza of the Alamo Drafthouse and Shawn Sides of Rude Mechanicals, Agents Adams helped recruit zombies, helped lead free Thriller dance workshops, coordinated media interviews, and collected donations for the Austin Food Bank. The first workshop was packed with 62 dancers and each workshop thereafter was even more full. She knew it would be of epic proportions when she counted nearly 300 zombies at last night's impromptu workshop in the parking lot of the Alamo Drafthouse South Lamar.

Flash Mob Austin is no stranger to fun. Now that several of us know this choreography, watch us use this again in the months to come...
